Every other day or so throughout the month, introduce the next number from 1 to 9.

After circling the dots to show the next number to be featured in the sequence to 9, ask the children to share what they see or notice. This will help them with instant recognition of the dot configuration. Once the dots are filled in blue, invite the sharing of stories about the number. When you see four, what does four make you think of?
