By Day 30 to 40, children will have seen and talked about the “five plus facts” for sums 6 to 10 several times. It can be helpful to create a separate set of ten-grids for 6 to 10 to use to practice instant recognition of the five plus combinations. You might show each card in random order for a couple of seconds and ask the class to tell the total and the combination.
