After circling dots in black to show the next number to be featured in the sequence to 9, ask children to share what they see or notice. This will help them with instant recognition of the dot configuration (e.g. For 6, “I see 3 and 3” or for 7, “I see 6 and 1 in the middle”.) Once the dots are filled in blue, invite the sharing of stories about the number. What do you think of when you think of the number__? Does anyone have a story to tell using the number __?
