The January to December line up of Birthday Packages provides a ready invitation to chanting the months in order. You might ask a helper to point to each month’s name. We can also count and compare the number of tags for different months.

At the beginning of each month, many teachers take the new month’s package out of the line up and display it near the Calendar. The children whose tags are on the month’s package get to figure out where to place their tags on the Calendar to mark their birthdays using the 1st as a starting point.
