By December 15th the Clock will show 11:45 a.m.(30 minutes for Nov. 1-30, plus 15 minutes for Dec. 1-15). This is a good day to review the concept of quarter ’til the hour. Perhaps you’ll want to have students notice when the classroom clock shows quarter ’til each new hour throughout the day.

As the minute hand on the Every Day Counts Clock moves closer each day to 60 minutes and the time becomes more difficult for some students to read, you may want to continue to practice reading the Classroom clock at the same number of minutes past the hour.
