On the last day of November the hands of the Every Day Clock showed 11:30 a.m. In December, we will continue to move the minute hand forward from 11:30 a.m. one minute each day, approaching 12 noon.

The Clock will provide multiple opportunities to read hour and minute hands when the time is approaching the next hour. Students can practice stating the time both as minutes past 11 and minutes until 12.

We can also use the Clock to propose many story problems in which students are asked to determine hours and or minutes ahead when the time switches from a.m. to p.m. or hours and minutes back.
