After two weeks of generating different combinations for 7 using counters in the two clear pockets and sharing stories and number sentences, children will enjoy playing the memory game Make a Match. The goal is to turn over two cards that add up to the sum of 7. When a pair is found to make 7, it can be displayed as a domino. When the pair is not a match for 7, both cards are turned back face down.

Instead of just pointing to a card, ask volunteers to tell the row (top, bottom, middle) and the position of the card in that row (first, second, third or next to last, or last). For example, “I want the card in the middle row under the third clip”.
