By midmonth, children will be able to use the green, green, orange color pattern or the triangle, triangle, square pattern to predict the color and shape of the new day’s piece. Some children may also begin to use the stair-step diagonal pattern (going down to the left) to predict the color and shape on a future date.

Now and then we can ask, “How many birthdays have we had so far and how many are still to come this month?”
