birthday package back into the lineup of months. If you have a favorite “Months of the Year” song, have everyone sing as a volunteer points to the package for each month as it comes up in the song. Count out the packages up to November, noting that it is the 11th month and the next-to-the-last month of the year. Then move the November package to a spot next to the Calendar.
You might invite the “November birthday people” to stand up in front of the group showing their tags to the class. Then ask the class to help suggest how to line their peers up in order from the first November birthday to the last. Finally, let the children who have November birthdays figure out where to put their tags on the Calendar, once you have turned over the calendar piece marking November 1st. The tags can inspire a great variety of questions.
